Collection: Berk Composites

After years of friendship and cycling together, Jure and Andraž founded the company Berk-Vehovar Composites in 2014. What started as a garage project turned into a company specializing in carbon fiber bicycle saddles. Jure’s surname Berk is also the company’s trademark, and Andraž leads the company with his valuable long-term experience in the field of research, engineering and development.

An important partner with whom the company can implement ideas is GorjupDesign, a designer of complex carbon molds. In 2018, the Berk brand was ordered by the Italian bicycle manufacturer Colnago designed special Berk saddles with a gold bridge for the limited line of C64 Gold Private Collection bikes. In recent years, the company Berk has been working closely with the manufacturer of sports shoes, the Slovenian company Alpina, together they are developing and designing light cycling shoes, which will also be available for sale in 2023. Berk is assisted by the Spanish company Darimo when assembling the lightest bicycle, which ensures that all the remaining components on the Berk bike are the lightest.  Berk products were also tested for several years by top Slovenian cyclists – Tadej Pogačar and Matej Mohorič. Pogačar also rode Berk shoes for the first year in the 2019 season in the UAE Team Emirates, and Mohorič actively participated in the testing and development of the shoes until the end of the 2021 season. In the last year, the Berk company also began to cooperate with the Fonda Sport Performance bike fitting company | biomechanics | sports science, which specializes in diagnostic and interventional treatment of cyclists. Their unique high-tech measuring equipment enables monitoring of pedal forces and direct insight into mechanical efficiency, seat pressure measurement and monitoring of the whole body in 3D space.
